Ok.... i did buy the first gift of christmas two days ago. I won't tell what i bought since the recipient reads this blog. But i will tell the story behind it. I decided to buy this gift and knew i couldn't afford it new, so i went to Craigs List. Found one right away and called the seller. We agreed to meet in a parking lot.... ooh.... and take a look. She met me the next day and as she got out of her car, her 14 year old son also got out with a bag and back pack. She told me he was staying there at the Holiday Inn ( where we met ) because he lives with her ex up the road a bit and three days before, their house burned to the ground. That's why she decided to sell what I was buying from her. She wanted extra money to buy him socks, undies, a coat... the neccesities. I was touched, like I was in the middle of a Hallmark movie. I checked out the item, which was fabulous; and handed her $200 for a $180 advertised item. Money is tight, the economy sucks and here she sold something near and dear to her to just get her son some undies. Ah yes Virginia... that's what Christmas is all about.
